Welcome

About the project:
The Florida Department of Transportation District Two has an Interstate Master Plan Study underway for the I-75 corridor. A major purpose of the I-75 Master Plan Study is to guide development of an intermodal interstate system that will serve the travel needs of people and freight and foster economic growth and development. The project limits are north from the Marion/Alachua County Line to the Florida/Georgia State Line. The total project length is approximately 100 miles. The I-75 Master Plan Study involves completion of two major tasks: (1) the Interstate Master Plan Study and (2) the Interchange Operational Analysis. The I-75 Master Plan Study will be developed working with the state, regional and local communities. Public involvement will occur throughout the study.

Interstate Master Plan Process:
The tier process will be used to select corridor alternatives including the identification, screening, evaluation and integration of alternatives into the final master plan. Many alternatives can be evaluated through a two-level screening and refinement process. Project needs may include expanding the roadway, modification of existing interchanges, construction of new interchanges, and provisions for additional elements, such as park-and-ride lots. The completed Interstate Master Plan Study will include a list of potential projects with a schedule for construction and a plan for financing. Tier 1 focuses on the travel lanes of the interstate and determines the number, type and configuration of those lanes. Tier 2 focuses on the interchanges and determines the number, location, and configuration of those interchanges. Tier 3 combines the preferred alternatives of Tier 1 and the preferred alternative of Tier 2 to create the desired alternative needed to improve the system.
